Fall Break

Last week was Fall Break! Oh how I love breaks! The boys kicked it off with a golf game with my parents right after school and Mr. Gatti's for lunch the next day! The following pictures are in no certain order...there was more golfing and riding etc Check out all the fun!

Before the ride. Our 3 and our nephew and niece.

Of course there was a riding trip and I gave in and joined in on this one! We got muddy the very first thing =) Above is all 4 of my handsome guys!
Just look at the view! It was a beautiful place to ride.
Me and my little buddy Ellie =) Isaac took the picture ( thus the reason I am looking down) We got muddy together!

Speaking of riding. My brother came to town and he took Isaiah for a spin on his bike. I might have taken a ride as well =)
The boys and papaw before the first game of golf.

I joined dad and the boys for the second game of golf. We had beautiful weather for the most part, but this particular morning was cold ...BURR!
I love it out on the golf course. It is so nice and the scenary is beautiful!
Isaac chilling out on the cart.
Dad and Micah. Everybody was wearing denim. Too cold for khakis and polos!
Micah
My dad is an avid golfer, but he is also a woodsman. Here he and Isaac are picking up persimmons off of the ground. We all tried one. I had tried one before. They are sweet and good, but too many seeds for me!
This picture is right behind my mom and dad's house. Isaiah and I stayed on the hill and took this picture. Micah, Isaac and dad are in the other cart.
Isaiah
My handsome boys!

We did other fun things on our break such as visit the local stock sales, stay up late, sleep in etc.

Back to school now and anxiously awaiting Christmas break!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing in our week! I love hearing from you!

Ice Skating

Recently the Middle School and High School classes took a field trip to go Ice Skating.
Isaiah had recently been with the youth group, so he picked right up and skated well. This was Isaac's first time. Needless to say when he was on his feet he did well, but he stayed on the ground alot =)
 Bless his heart!!
The girls all lined up for a picture!
I liked this picture of the principal and his daughter!
Everyone seemed to have a really good time! It had been atleast 18-19 years since I had skated. I gave in and headed out on the ice...after about an hour without incident I fell and hurt myself =(  I was sore for several days!

I think Ice Skating is something I could really enjoy! The boys are wanting to go back soon.

Thanks for sharing in our day!

A Visit To The Fire Station

This week has been Fire Safety Week. A couple of weeks ago Micah's class went on a field trip to our county fire department. The tour began outside in the garage with all of the trucks, tools and firefighters. The tour was very informative and educational and it reminded me of things I hadn't thought of in a while!

For example: Had I went over STOP DROP AND ROLL with my kids in a while? What about staying low if the house is filled with smoke? The play house has been our designated meeting place for years, but had they forgotten? Do not call 911 inside of the house! Take a cell phone with you or go to a neighbors house. The fire fighter said that a good time to check your smoke alarm batteries are at the change of time in the Spring and Fall.
The children were very attentive and had lots of questions :) He told them all about a fireman and what their job involves. Something else that interested me was teaching your children that first responders are heroes and to not be afraid of them. The fireman got completely suited up and then they turned off the lights to let the children see what he would look like if he came to rescue them. He was kinda scary with all of that garb on and especially the oxygen sound. He sounded like Darth Vader =)

I hope that the children learned from what they heard because it is very important! Each child received a goodie bag with fire prevention and safety items, a ruler, pencil, magnet etc.
I thought that this painting was neat on the side of one of the trucks!

Maybe today would be a good time to go over a few fire safety tips with your children!

Thanks for stopping by! I love hearing from you!

Welcome Fall and a Trip To the Apple Orchard

It's Fall y'all! I just love it!

Hoodies and sweaters, pumpkin patches, apples, gourds, hot chocolate, bon fires, candles and so much more comes to mind when I think of this time of year!

The day after Isaac's birthday we carried on a Fall family tradition. This tradition is one that I shared with both sets of my grandparents and my parents while growing up! Now our boys share in the fun!

A visit to the apple orchard...

We travel an hour or so to this particular orchard. When we arrive we always stop inside the pie/gift shop for a visit. This year I didn't have a fried apple pie. Instead I enjoyed one of the best caramel apples I have ever eaten!
The trees were so full of apples of all colors and tastes. Some trees were actually leaning under the weight!
James snapped this picture of the boys and I in between the trees =) This was James's first visit with us.
There's my daddy looking for the perfect apple! He enjoys this trip immensely! Like a kid in a candy store =)
I have always loved walking away pictures! This one I took to actually get my mom in there because she does not like for me to take her picture =)
Here is James boosting Isaac up into the tree to grab that "perfect" apple!
We always have to stop and snap a picture beside of this old shed.

You can read about last year's trip and a look at past trips HERE
I had to grab this picture of Isaac because he was the birthday boy!

We stopped for some dinner when we left and made a quick stop at Hobby Lobby. Whoever thought of opening a Sportman's store beside of HB was a genius =) While I took my time browsing, James and the boys enjoyed their own kind of browsing!

Thanks for joining in on our little trip...

P.S. Welcome to my new follower's ;)
