Happy Thanksgiving And A Glimpse Of Thanksgiving Past

Wishing you and yours a very Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!

We had snow here today and the boys, my dad and I went out and grabbed some pictures! What fun!

I will save the rest of those for a later time :) Now on to a bit of Thanksgiving past.

We enjoyed our friends wedding on Thanksgiving weekend in 2011. Micah was the Bible Bearer.
Micah's class dressed up as Pilgrims or Indians last year for Thanksgiving! Cute lil' Indian huh?

Well there you have it...a glimpse of Thanksgiving past!

Have a blessed one!

Leaves Leaves and Yes More Leaves

One thing we are blessed with...um I'm trying to see it as a blesing is bunches of trees! Nice shade in the Summer, but oh so much work in the fall!

I took this picture before my walk one morning. The leaves were just starting to fall!
A night or two later we had terrible wind and we woke up to this! In years past we have worked several times during the season, but this year we waited until the maples lost almost all off their leaves before working. Then after all that work the oaks lose theirs :(

Needless to say it consisted of quite a bit of work. The boys pitched right in and between all of us it was done in no time!
Of course not all work was involved! A little bit of play was added along the way :)

A couple of weeks ago James pressure cleaned the front of the house and with the yard cleaned up it's time for outdoor Christmas decorations!

Jr Convention

One of the many wonderful things about a christian school is Student Convention. Friday was Junior Student Convention! This particular convention is for 9-12 year olds. This was Isaac's first time. Isaiah and a couple of older students were invited to attend as well. Jr Convention is an entire day of competition. It consists of music, athletic, academic etc competitions.

Here is a picture of our group! They performed very well!

Our older students. They will attend Regional Convention in March.
Checkers
Pace Bowl team which is the academics. We placed 2nd.
Track and Field. Isaac placed 2nd in the 50 yard dash and 2nd in the 100!
Basketball 3on3. We had two teams. Isaac's team placed 1st and our other placed 5th.
One of our students made this woodworking project. He placed, but I'm not sure where :)

All of our students performed well and displayed good sportsmanship! It was a fun, busy and rewarding day!

Thanks for sharing it with us!

Old Window and an Old Sled

Good evening to you! It's November and what can I say I am ready for crafting and christmas decorating!

My father-in-law recently replaced windows at his house and guess what? Yep. You guessed it...I got the old ones!!

They were in need of some love and had atleast 10 coats of paint on them :) So, I started small and cleaned this one up.

I then taped off the glass part with painter's tape and spray painted it. After the paint was dry I brushed on chalkboard paint.
And there it is! Pretty I think! I'm taking it to the craft fair Thanksgiving weekend. Any
ideas for it?
I have had some technical difficulties thus the reason I haven't posted in awhile and the reason why my text is all the way down here:)

Ok. So you got to see one of the windows...now onto the old sled.

I had been wanting one for a couple of years and so last year I asked my aunt about finding one. She is an expert on thrifting and junkin'! She just happened to have one handy! It needed a little love as well, but my Mr. Fixit can handle it :)

We actually didn't get to it right away, but last Saturday James fixed it!

If you will notice the top picture of the sled...
The end pieces were broken and taped etc. So, after some cutting, sanding and new screws...

We have this! Looks great huh? I'm quite sure that this will be the star of a Christmas porch post pretty soon!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to have all my glitches fixed soon! Lots of Christmad posting in the future ;)
